This policy explains what personal data Latent collects through latenthq.com, why we collect it, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have kept it plain and specific. If anything here is unclear, write to us at chinmay@latenthq.com.
1. Who we are
Latent is a venture of Alpha OBS LLP. Alpha OBS LLP is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at chinmay@latenthq.com.
2. Please do not send us patient or health information
This website is for business enquiries about our software services. Do not enter patient records, health conditions or any other protected health information in a form on this site. If you need to share that kind of data, tell us in your message and we will arrange a proper channel with the right agreements first.
3. What this website collects
This website has no user accounts and no sign-up. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. The table below is the full list of what we collect.
| What | Why we collect it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form: your name, work email, country code, phone number if you give one, and your message. | To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project. | Up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted (see section 7). |
| Report form: your name, email and any other details you enter, to get our report. | To give you the download and to follow up about it. | Up to 24 months, then deleted. |
| How you arrived: the first page you landed on, the website or search engine that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, and the last few pages you viewed here. | To understand which pages and channels lead to enquiries, so we can improve the site. | Held in your browser for up to 30 days, or until you clear your browser storage. It is sent to us only if you submit a form, and is then kept with that enquiry. |
| Website usage through Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you found the site. This uses cookies or similar identifiers. | To measure how the site is used and which content helps visitors. | Set by Google. Analytics data is held on Google's side according to the retention setting we choose in our account. |
| Website usage through Ahrefs Web Analytics: pages viewed, referrer, country, device and browser. | To measure traffic and the pages visitors read. | Held by Ahrefs under its own terms. |
| Booking details you enter on Calendly: name, email, chosen time and anything you type in the notes. | To schedule and prepare for the call you asked for. | Held by Calendly and by us under their and our retention. We keep our copy up to 24 months. |
| Technical logs from our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested. | Security, fixing faults and preventing abuse. | A short rolling period set by the hosting provider. |
4. Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart. On top of that, this site stores one item in your browser's local storage: a short record of how you arrived (the first page you landed on, where you came from, any campaign tags in the link, and the last few pages you viewed here). It stays for up to 30 days and is not sent anywhere unless you submit a form, in which case it goes with your enquiry. We do not use it to track you across other websites. You can remove cookies and stored site data at any time in your browser settings, and you can block analytics cookies with your browser or an extension. This site does not show a cookie banner.
5. How we use your data
- To answer your enquiry, send you a report you asked for, and arrange calls.
- To see which pages and channels bring us enquiries, so we can improve the site and our content.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to block spam.
- To meet legal obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.
We handle your data because you asked us to (when you contact us), because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving a business website, and where the law requires it, with your consent.
6. Who else handles your data
We share data only with the services that run this site and our business, and only as needed:
- Website hosting provider. Hosts the site and the database that stores enquiries and the arrival record sent with them. Enquiries are stored in this website's database as well as emailed to us. Only the people who run the site can see them.
- Google. Google Analytics for usage measurement; Google Workspace (Gmail) to deliver the enquiry notifications to our team; Google Drive to deliver the report download.
- Ahrefs. Web analytics, as listed above.
- Calendly. Call booking, if you use the booking link.
- Professional advisers and authorities. Where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States and India. We rely on their published data protection terms for those transfers. We do not sell personal data.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiries, including the arrival record sent with them and the copy saved in this website's database, are kept up to 24 months from our last contact with you. We clear out older enquiries by hand from time to time, so an older one may stay a little longer until the next clear-out. If a conversation becomes a client engagement, the relevant details are then governed by our contract with you. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU and UK under the GDPR, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may be able to ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you gave;
- move your data to another provider.
Write to chinmay@latenthq.com from the email address you used to contact us. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are stored in a private database that only the people who run the site can open, and the credentials we use to send notification email are kept outside the public website folder. No online system is completely secure, so please keep your messages free of sensitive health or financial details.
10. Children
This website is for business visitors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
