Problem:
The client, Gaur Gopal Das — a widely followed Indian spiritual and wellness educator — had an audience, a message, and a vision, but no product and no monetization engine. Traditional channels like in-person events and gatherings were reaching a ceiling as digital engagement became the primary way people sought guidance and mental wellness support. The challenge was translating that reach into a real, scalable mental wellness product: without the right product strategy, technical architecture, and execution ownership, the risk of building the wrong thing — or building nothing at all — was high.
Solution:
Latent took end-to-end ownership from ideation through delivery. The engagement began with product strategy — defining what to build, what not to build, and how to sequence the work — before the managed pod designed the app concept, UX, and technical architecture. The team built and launched Monkify, a structured, psychologist-informed mental wellness app built around real use cases people search for help with: insomnia and sleeplessness, relationship and family stress, career pressure, anxiety and overthinking, and building self-love and purpose. The product includes:
-
Guided meditations mapped to specific emotional states and life situations, not generic sessions.
-
Sleep Tales for winding down into rest, and ambient Sounds of Life soundscapes for focus and calm.
-
Podcasts and courses for building emotional intelligence and resilience over time, not just in a single session.
-
An encrypted journal for private, judgment-free reflection, with health and personal data encrypted in transit.
-
Sound therapy tools for emotional regulation in the moment.
A subscription and premium-content monetization model was designed into the product from the start, not retrofitted after launch.
Impact:
Monkify launched as a live product and crossed $1M ARR, validating both the product concept and the monetization model. It now holds a 4.9-star rating across nearly 2,900 reviews and has passed 100,000 downloads on Google Play — strong, durable engagement for a mental wellness app, not a launch spike. The engagement marked a fundamental transition for Gaur Gopal Das: from a content creator with a large following to the founder of a scalable digital platform business, with Latent's managed pod providing full product ownership across strategy, design, build, and go-to-market — not just engineering execution.
