Technology Transformation for a Non-Profit ALS Research & Patient Platform
EverythingALS needed a technology overhaul to attract pharma partnerships and better serve its patient and research community. We rebuilt their web platform, mobile app, and data pipelines from the ground up — enabling structured data collection, improved patient engagement, and credible partnerships with research organizations.

Problem:
EverythingALS is a US-based non-profit organization focused on ALS research and patient support. Despite its critical mission, the organization's technology infrastructure was fragile: a single volunteer managed all technical operations, systems were fragmented, and valuable research data was effectively trapped across disconnected tools. The lack of a reliable, professionally managed technology function was creating credibility risk with key pharmaceutical partners, threatening the organization's ability to unlock funding and advance its research goals.
Solution:
Latent introduced the managed pod model to EverythingALS, fundamentally rebuilding how the organization operated its technology. The pod rebuilt the development process from the ground up, establishing a structured delivery cadence and ownership model that the organization had never had. Web and mobile patient-facing tools were designed and built as part of a unified product strategy. Latent took complete ownership of delivery, serving as the de facto product and engineering organization for a team that had previously relied on volunteer capacity.
Impact:
EverythingALS now operates with continuous product velocity, a meaningful shift from its previous state of reactive, fragmented development. Data pipelines were cleaned and unified, making research insights accessible and actionable. The improved technical credibility enabled pharma partnerships that had previously been out of reach. Perhaps most significantly, the organization achieved massive leverage from a small investment: a managed team functioning as a full product org, delivering at a pace far beyond what any volunteer arrangement could sustain.
Key Outcomes:
Continuous product velocity established
Clean, unified data pipelines
Pharma partnerships unlocked
Small team, massive organizational leverage
