Problem:

DCME, a UK-based domiciliary care provider, faced critical operational challenges stemming from its heavily paper-based processes. The organization relied on manual daily schedules for dispatching staff, which resulted in inefficiencies and delays due to the time-consuming nature of completing and submitting paperwork. Additionally, the lack of a centralized digital system led to limited transparency in day-to-day operations and posed significant difficulties in accessing real-time insights into staff activities and overall performance. These challenges underscored the need for a modern, technology-driven solution to streamline workflows and enhance operational visibility.


Solution:

To modernize and streamline DCME’s operations, we developed an integrated mobile application and web-based platform. The web platform facilitated efficient scheduling of patient-staff appointments, while the mobile app enabled nurses to mark their arrival and share real-time location data. The system provided real-time updates on task completion, alerts, and notifications, ensuring transparency and responsiveness. Additionally, it supported comprehensive data capture, with nurses recording their departure directly through the app, thereby improving accountability and operational efficiency.


Impact:

The digital solution delivered substantial operational efficiencies and cost savings for DCME. By eliminating the need for daily printed schedules, it significantly reduced printing expenses. The platform enabled the scheduling of nearly 600 appointments per week, streamlining staff coordination.
